<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Weather is too hot today. I made Xinjiang style lamb kabobs. The best thing in a hot summer night is having lamb kabobs and cold beers! Happy summer!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BXduD2PBBZQ/U3L9bkm6dDI/AAAAAAAACh4/ELBP4vXSRnI/s1600/IMG_3991.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BXduD2PBBZQ/U3L9bkm6dDI/AAAAAAAACh4/ELBP4vXSRnI/s1600/IMG_3991.JPG" height="400" width="266" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I brought a lamb leg from Safeway, and cut the lamb leg into small square pieces. After it, put the meat in a bowl, add 1/2cup white wine, pepper, salt, cumin spice, white pepper powder, Five spice powder (You still need these spices when you bake the lamb). Then cover the bowl with plastic wraps, marinate the meat for 15mins. </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tmZTkBkLyAQ/U3L9Y-BdUFI/AAAAAAAAChg/Gqf0B2chwUI/s1600/IMG_3987.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tmZTkBkLyAQ/U3L9Y-BdUFI/AAAAAAAAChg/Gqf0B2chwUI/s1600/IMG_3987.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
☆ Loosely thread 6 to 7 pieces of lamb on skewers</div>
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
☆ Place the lamb skewers on foil and bake in 320F it for 10mins, then turn the skewers, and bake another 10mins until the lamb become medium rare. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
☆ Turn skewers 2 or 3 times, meanwhile brush with olive oil, and add cumin spice and salt. It all depends on how strong flavor you like. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
☆ Bake another 15mins and get the well-done lamb kabobs! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

Home Made Butter Chicken</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Today, I decide to make butter chicken because it is easy to cook. I have not cooked any Indian food before, so it is better to start with a simple dish. I bought a "ready to cook" butter chicken sauce from a local Indian grocery store. Beside the sauce, you also need heavy whipping cream , onion, chicken, tomato sauce to cook this dish.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-i02f1sFaG-o/Uvm3U-sEl4I/AAAAAAAACZg/GF4h33eMChk/s1600/pack.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-i02f1sFaG-o/Uvm3U-sEl4I/AAAAAAAACZg/GF4h33eMChk/s1600/pack.jpg" height="320" width="258" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UWRoxP06Ru8/Uvm-zkLRnfI/AAAAAAAACac/09CFPvZH7bM/s1600/2014-02-10+17.05.55.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UWRoxP06Ru8/Uvm-zkLRnfI/AAAAAAAACac/09CFPvZH7bM/s1600/2014-02-10+17.05.55.jpg" height="320" width="290" /></a></div>
</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
☆ 100ml heavy whipping cream</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
☆ Oliver oil</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
☆ 1/4 white onion</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
☆ 1/2 pack of chicken breast </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
☆ Hot water </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
☆ Tomato sauce </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Cook: </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
☆ Cut the chicken breast into pieces and slice the onion; </div>

<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
☆ Cook for another 20mins;</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
☆ It's ready to serve. </div>

Chinese proverb says "白菜豆腐保平安” , which means the people who eat napa cabbage and tofu will have a health life. For that reason, last night I cooked a Chinese cabbage hot pot with firm tofu and rice noodle. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3aWoe0O5mV8/UuG5OvmLorI/AAAAAAAACU4/DzZ7e3heLYA/s1600/2014-01-22+17.45.13-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3aWoe0O5mV8/UuG5OvmLorI/AAAAAAAACU4/DzZ7e3heLYA/s1600/2014-01-22+17.45.13-2.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br />
☆ Peel napa cabbage leaves and Wash them in warm water.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">☆ Cut the cabbage leaves in to pieces without any roots.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">☆ Cut tofu into small square or rectangle pieces.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">☆ Immerse tofu pieces into cold salty water</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">☆ Immerse rice noodle with hot water about 1-2 mins.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">☆ Take tofu and rice noodles out of the water. Put three ingredients into pot.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">☆ Add hot water in the pot to cover ingredients.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">☆ Heat the pot about 10 mins.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">☆ Add 1tbsp salt, 1/2tbsp sesame oil, several drop of vinegar.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">☆ Use low level to heat the pot about 15mins, then it's done.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">It is the way Chinese people used to cook, but nowadays I don't see anyone cook like this anymore. People prefer strong flavor now.</span>

Today I made a Shrimp Sweet Fried Rice for dinner. I used 1tbsp Ketchup mixed with 2tbsp water as source, and drop it after all the ingredients have been well cooked. I want to say it wasn't a bad idea. The "Ketchup" fried rice tasted good. I posted some fried rice photos on blog before. I think fried rice is easy for everyone to cook, so I decide to make "Dumpling" tomorrow!!♡Starting prepare my next "project".♡ Miss you all, my friends :)Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04152920027066832020noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-913809407379180193.post-45138599679057705432013-06-13T23:15:00.002-07:002013-06-16T23:43:07.296-07:00Home Made - Japanese Oyakodon<div>
It has been a while since my last update. Recently, I have been busy all the weekday. I spend less time on cooking, but more time on working. When I back to home, I don't even want to look at the Kitchen. Sometimes, I prefer having a comfy sleep rather than a dinner. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Let me ask a question. <b>If you have only few minutes, what would you cook for dinner ? </b>One of the Japanese Receipts - Oyakodon maybe a good choice.</div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;">It has been a while since my last post. The past few days have been hectic. I was too busy to cook. Because my lease is expiring, I am looking for a new place to move in. Now, I am packing up my stuffs and clearing things. I didn't realize that I had so many things in my storage until I opened it last week. I decide to donate some of my clothes to GoodWill...</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Goodwill, it reminds me a lady whom I met in middle of the town. Her name is R. We were waiting a bus on a Tuesday morning when we started talking with each other. R told me she got a black jacket from GoodWill for an interview. I had never been to GoodWill before I met R. She told me that GoodWill is a place that people can buy good quality things with low prices. I researched the company immediately. I learned that GoodWill is in a good business model. It collects and sales the donated stuffs to the people who need them in a reasonable price. I think GoodWill is really benefit to both of donator and buyer. For me, I don't need to straggle between keep and throw away my goods. I can always choose to donate them. Helping people to help self.</span></div>

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-liLfJAnP08w/UYrEc9YZ8oI/AAAAAAAAB6g/ywqhJ_Hjmx4/s1600/Photo+May+06,+12+31+34+PM.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-liLfJAnP08w/UYrEc9YZ8oI/AAAAAAAAB6g/ywqhJ_Hjmx4/s1600/Photo+May+06,+12+31+34+PM.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
I like spicy, crisp and hot buffalo chicken! A few years ago, I made a trip to eat real buffalo chicken wings. From there, I fell in love of this "hot chicken"wing. I know lots of restaurants serve buffalo chicken, but none of them is good enough to compare the one in Buffalo downtown. Even I claim that I am a healthy eater, I really love fried chicken, especially the wing with buffalo sauce.<br />
<br />
Today, I made buffalo chicken by self. I bought chicken wings, hot sauce, sweet butter, and black pepper from super market. Here's ingredients I use:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cFC0jn9UotM/UYrG99T7h-I/AAAAAAAAB6s/IEqp1wuAIRs/s1600/Photo+May+06,+10+31+49+AM.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cFC0jn9UotM/UYrG99T7h-I/AAAAAAAAB6s/IEqp1wuAIRs/s1600/Photo+May+06,+10+31+49+AM.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />

☆ 7 Chicken Wings<br />
☆ 1/4 tsp Black Pepper<br />
☆ 1/2 tsp Salt<br />

☆ 1/4 tsp Curry Powder<br />
☆ 1/4 Small Cup of Hot Sauce<br />
☆ 1/4 tsp Paprika<br />
☆ 1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper<br />
☆ Vegetable Oil<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Fry:<br />
<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Today,I made a burger with sweet potato fries. I wish I could make it better. The beef is well done, so it tasted a little dry. I used oven to bake sweet potato within 20mins, no extra oil needed. All process took me over 40 mins because I need to cook it with mid-low heat and watch beef carefully to avoid over heat. In this point, I would prefer order burger from in-N-out. Anyway, it is another healthy dinner. I felt so happy that I discovered a new home dish. In next week, I will cook different flavor burger and write recipe next time. </div>

<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">Today, I made Braised Prawns, which is a famous Chinese cuisine. Braised Prawns is a popular dish in Chinese family. I remember my grandfather used to cook it when I was little. It is so delicious and very easy to make. Most people like shrimp without shells. However, when we cook braised prawns, it is better for us to use prawns with shells. Because shell has organic fiber and calcium, it will protect nutrition during fried. Anyway, It is an optional. You can still use shelled prawn,which is perfectly fine.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A hiking day. I went to big basin redwoods state park. It is far from where I live. I drove on mountain road very careful. Because of narrow roads, I don't think I can drive back after sun goes down. The park is huge. It has several trails. Some of them are very long. Most of trails may take you more than 3 hours. So, loop around redwoods is good for family visitor.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Headquarters Parking Lot & Loop Trail</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Parking is $10 per car. You will get a park map and note. Write down which trail you are going on the note,then leave it on your car before enter. Because the trail is so long, I kept map on the hand all the time. Indeed,I am afraid of losing my way.<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SgPEbIbx_ik/UWufuFjwHfI/AAAAAAAAB34/JMAu5538tMM/s1600/P1000692.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SgPEbIbx_ik/UWufuFjwHfI/AAAAAAAAB34/JMAu5538tMM/s1600/P1000692.JPG" height="320" width="210" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Big basin also a great camp place. I saw some groups came with camping baggages. The park store has rental place where you can get camping equipments or sleeping bags before 4pm. All in all, it was my "new weekend adventure". </div>

Saturday, a relaxing day. I was in Sam's Chowder House eating lobster roll. I don't know whether it has another place, which serve lobster roll in half moon bay. Sam's house is good enough for me. I saw thousands of people posted their views and pictures on yelp.I like the place not only because of delicious seafood, but also the nice seafront view. Maine lobster is expensive in California. There are not a lot of places serve fresh Maine lobster roll. I remember last year I ordered 2 lobster dishes in Maine restaurant with $24.99. Maybe next time I will buy a lobster and test-cook it by myself. </div>

Walked near beach and enjoyed a beautiful sunset tonight. Back to home, I watched PSY's new music video "Gentle man" on Youtube. I am not surprised that it already has over 10 million views. I believe it will become a next "magic song"!! I made a link. If you are interested in "Gangnam style", you probably like <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASO_zypdnsQ&list=PLEC422D53B7588DC7&index=2" target="_blank">Gentle Man</a>.</div>
